DRESS FOR STRETCH SUCCESS

An assisted stretching session with Stretch Life opens up a world of benefits, from increased range of motion, pain free movement and a sense of wellbeing. To make the most of your stretching session, wearing the right clothing is crucial. It’s about finding that perfect balance between comfort, functionality, and the ability to move freely while your therapist assists you in stretching. Here’s a short guide on what to wear to ensure both comfort and efficacy.

Go for snug-fitting if you can

While you might lean towards loose clothing for comfort, it's advisable to opt for more form-fitting options for an assisted stretching session. Baggy clothes can obscure your body's alignment and impede your therapist's ability to tailor the stretch session to your needs. Consider snug yet comfortable choices such as leggings, T-shirts, or compression wear that allows your therapist to see your movements clearly and adjust your stretches accurately.

Layer thoughtfully

Managing your body temperature during the session is key. You may start off a bit cooler as you’ll be lying on your back while the Stretch Life Therapist warms up your muscles, but as you delve deeper into your stretches, you will find you’ll warm up. Wearing layers that can be easily added or removed helps maintain comfort throughout your session.

Dress to feel as comfortable and unrestricted as possible, if you’re adjusting your clothing you may not relax fully into the stretch.

Think about your feet

For hygiene reasons and because in some stretch positions, your feet will be placed on the Stretch Life Therapist’s body and by their face, we ask that everyone wears clean socks at all times. You don’t need to worry about grip as you’ll be lying down for the whole session. If you forget your socks, we’ll have some pairs you can buy to wear for your session.

Minimise jewellery and accessories

Please don’t wear belts, hats or scarves. Keep jewellery to a minimum and ideally, remove your watch to ensure nothing interferes with your stretching.

Try not to wear mock, turtle or roll neck tops

Each session will work on relieving any neck tension so where possible, please help your Stretch Life Therapist work with freedom on your neck area and instead of a mock, turtle or roll neck top, please wear a standard crew or v-neck.

The aim is to feel as comfortable and unrestricted as possible, allowing you to relax fully into the stretches. Enjoy your assisted stretching session with confidence, knowing you’re dressed not just for comfort, but for optimal health and flexibility.
